But First...

In case you are new here

Hi! My name is Samantha, your friendly neighborhood Boudoir Photographer and owner of Speak To Me Photography, For the past 2 and a half years my incredible team and I have been working hard to bring Boudoir and the confidence and power it brings to as many people as we can. We do our best to make Boudoir accessible, diverse and celebratory of everyone who chooses to be on the other side of my lens.

Let's get into why Boudoir Photography can be so expensive.

Why is Boudoir so expensive?

In general, Boudoir Photography is considered a luxury experience. It is an intimate and deeply vulnerable expression of beauty and sexuality and can enhance one's sense of self confidence. However, many people end up not following through with it due to the cost. Different studios break it down in different ways, and offer a variety of different services and opportunities for clients. Here we will break down some of these things and why it is worth the investment

1. Professional photography requires specific skills and equipment

While I have only been in business for about 2 and a half years, the investment I have made to learn, grow and expand my skill set has definitely taken a lot of time and money. Participating in education and obtaining resources to assist in ensuring that no matter the client, I have the ability the pose them in a flattering way and provide excellent quality photos. Making sure they feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire process from start to finish, no matter their experience with having their photos taken.

2. Range of services offered

Besides the photos at the end, there are so many other services attached to the experience itself that I offer to my clients. This includes professional hair and makeup, wardrobe and photoshoot styling, retouching, easy and secure personalized digital gallery in addition to an entire line of luxury photo products to memorialize the experience. With each and every Boudoir Experience, we ensure communication, coaching and accessibility. It is a significant component of our mission to provide an individualized and supportive experience to everyone who chooses Speak To Me Photography for their Boudoir Experience.

3. It's not just a photoshoot

For traditional photography the concept is pretty simple, get hired, show up, shoot, edit, email the results. I call it a Boudoir Experience because it truly is just that, an experience. It ultimately becomes event, one that takes a lot of preparation and care before and after the actual day of the photoshoot. Let's break down the process start to finish, from inquiry to product delivery.

Each Boudoir Experience with Speak To Me Photography includes:

  1. Inquiry: Whether it be through our website, social media or in person, you submit an inquiry to express your interest in booking a photoshoot with us. At this point you will receive an email from us which includes a questionnaire to allow us to get to know you and your vision for your photoshoot a little better. In addition, there is a link where you can schedule your consultation appointment with me via Zoom, or in person if that is your preference and you are in the Lehigh Valley.
  2. Consultation: This is where we officially meet! We review my personally curated preparation guide and review all of our package and product options. This includes add ons as well as location options. After you make your decisions regarding package we will review our styling guide and discuss vision before ultimately setting a date.
  3. Prior to the day of photoshoot: We will continue to communicate back and forth with inspiration, outfit decisions and posing ideas. Leading up to the day of, ensuring no surprises and support leading up to the day of your photoshoot.
  4. Day of the Photoshoot: You are welcomed with a personalized goodie bag, as well as our signature beverage bar and sample products for you to see and consider your options. I navigate the different services, as well as utilizing my experience to know what poses to start with, outfit order and how to group different looks. Posing is coached throughout, and I show you sneak peaks throughout so you can see how amazing you look and exactly what I am seeing. I provide reminders for staying hydrated and counter stretching to minimize the possibility of soreness after.
  5. After the Photoshoot: Immediately after, I upload the photos to my computer, and start reviewing them. Parsing down hundreds of photos to a reasonable amount. Once that is completed and I do preliminary editing for lighting and orientation, we schedule your reveal. Typically via Zoom, we meet one more time to review the photos and you select your favorites based upon your package type, or if you would like to purchase additional photos or product. I help walk you through them and keep everything organized. If you decide to get an album, we will then review our album design guide to customize your album. I know, a lot of moving parts! It is also at this time we will ask if you are okay with allowing us to share your photos and sign a model release. This gives us permission to utilize your photos for social media and other marketing. It is completely up to you, and now that you see your photos you can make an educated decision about this.
  6. Finalization of photos/product: Depending on the delivery window, you will then be waiting for me to complete your photos and any product. It is at that time that I put together your individual gallery, and send it over via email. I will let you know of any updates with processing product order and answer any additional questions.
  7. Final ask: After all is said and done, we ask that you leave a Google Review and complete our experience questionnaire. Let us know how we did and help us to continue to spread the word.

In conclusion

As you can see, there is a lot that goes into a Boudoir Experience. I wouldn't have it any other way. It deepens the connection we get to have with our clients and opens them to a world of self love, confidence and empowerment that is so unique to Boudoir. While we try really hard to maintain an approachable price point, we are hoping to grow in the coming year. To do that and meet the goals we have, we will eventually be changing our prices and packages.

Eventually it is my goal to do this full time. To take a step back from my field to focus on Speak To Me Photography because it is truly where my passion lies. While I love workin as a professional in the Drug and Alcohol Treatment field, I am finding more and more that Boudoir fulfills me more than anything these days. One day, but for now, let us know if you have any more questions, and we can't wait to meet you.
