Things to consider before getting your makeup done with Leah

It is well known that our incredible girl Leah is an absolute goddess with a makeup brush. She has taken some time to make sure you have her tips and tricks to make sure you are ready for her the day of your photoshoot!

1. Clean Exfoliated Moistured Skin

While Leah preps the skin ahead of time, and we do have makeup wipes available at the location of your photoshoot, cleaning your face before arrival has several important benefits. First. utilizing a cleanser tailored to your skin type prior to the application of makeup removes dirt, oil, and dead skin cells. This prevents clogged pores, enhances makeup longevity, ensures even application, and overall promotes healthier skin by providing a clean canvas for makeup application. Overall it allows your makeup to look its best and last longer by creating a smooth base on clean skin.

2. Dermaplaning or Facial Waxing is highly recommended for very special days

In the same effort of the previous tip, dermaplaning and facial waxing assists in the removal of dead skill cells, in addition to the benefit of hair removal. Removing excess hair from the face assists in ensuring a smoother and more flawless complexion when getting your makeup done. It allows product to glide across the skin more easily and ensure the glowy and perfected look you look for when getting a professional makeup application.

3. Stay hydrated from within!!

Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water and other supplements can help the skin retain moisture. This can make it look more soft supple and smooth. It promotes skin elasticity and deletes the appearance of wrinkles. When it comes to makeup application, it again allows for a smoother application, and minimizes the potential for blemishes.

4. Put contacts in if needed

We want you to be able to see throughout the process! The main concern when it comes to waiting to put in your contacts relates to the potential for your eyes to become irritated in the process. After spending nearly an hour getting your beautiful makeup done, the last thing you want to do is tear up and compromise the look. Taking care of this ahead of time minimizes the potential for this.

5. Brush your teeth

For a similar reason to that above, brushing your teeth ahead of time will minimize any potential for unintentional mishaps to your completed look. Also, it definitely helps with confidence throughout the course of your photoshoot to feel fresh in all the ways!

6. Wear a zip-up/button down shirt, nothing you have to take off your head

We've all had it happen. Do your hair or makeup and then ultimately forget that you have something on that is difficult to get off. Whether it be a hoodie or simply a t-shirt, following this tip minimizes the liklihood of any potential buffs or scrapes against the face with clothing.
