It's all in the details

Something that I am the most proud of with Speak To Me Photography, is the experience we provide. All of our clients we bring into our home based studio is a friend we just haven't spent time with yet, and they are a little naked. Top to bottom I have thought about every way to make you feel incredible the day of your photoshoot. It can be a nerve racking experience and anything we can do to ease some of that for you, we have tried our best to accommodate. We have done photoshoots with people of varying experience and comfort levels, and consistently we have found that these efforts have not gone unnoticed and are effective.

Getting to know each other

Before booking your boudoir experience, we try to get to know you and your desire for your photoshoot ahead of time. Upon submitting and inquiry you will receive an email from us that includes a questionnaire, as well as a link to schedule your consultation based upon both of our availability. The questions within the questionnaire vary in subject matter, from personal attributes and preferences, to comfort level and personal style for the photoshoot. This is reviewed prior to your consultation to elaborate further.

At the consultation this may be the first time we are actually meeting. Primarily held over Zoom virtually, this is an opportunity for us to flush out and discuss your vision for your photoshoot, choose a package that best suits these needs, as we as reviewing our experience and what can be anticipated. It generally lasts 40 minutes, after which a contract will be sent reflecting what was determined and a 20% is required to secure the date. Without a deposit we are unable to guarantee the day and it may be booked by another client.

In the time leading up to the day of the photoshoot we will be sending photos back and forth that includes your outfit and accessory choices, poses that you are drawn too and some that I suggest as well. This helps to hone in on the vibe for the shoot and me to set up the sets to accommodate.

Day of the shoot

Upon arrival you are greeted by the team (based upon services chosen or included in package). We bring you around the house and explain the set up, and direct you to settle in and put your things down. After, we will bring your to your welcome board. This includes; water, Prosecco, a variety of homemade mimosa cubes (changes seasonally), and a little swag bag from the team (if applicable to your package). We review the vibes as discussed then it's time to get started!

With majority of our packages, we include hair and makeup services. While you are not obligated to take advantage of this, it is emphasized to take advantage of it. It does not change the cost of the package and enhances the experience of being the primary focus of the day and not having to worry about anything. Leah will start with makeup. She goes over your look and desires, choosing product based upon your needs. After she is done, Kasi takes over with hair styling. Similarly she will go over your look and desires, before bringing it to life. We are a dramatic bunch and love a good dramatic reveal. Once we feel confident you are in love with your look, it is my turn.

When it is time to actually get the photoshoot started, I will ask you to lay out your outfit options on the couch. We will decide which outfit will go with which pose set and physical set, and choose where and in what outfit we will start with. Before you get into your first pose there are a couple things I will review with you. The first being the importance of engaging your shoulders throughout posing and arching the best you. Pointing your toes, even if you are wearing shoes. I will also reinforce how critical it is to stay hydrated, and that I will be prompting you throughout the photoshoot to minimize the likelihood of soreness after the photoshoot. I will also be prompting to counter-stretch following poses that are specifically arch-y, also to minimize soreness and discomfort following the photoshoot.

I will demonstrate each pose for you and different variations to try. The way you move may also cause me to ask you to pause because it looks amazing. We will spend some time in that outfit, and if it is part of you package we will move to the next until we complete the session.

After we have taken all of the photos, I will ask if there is anything else you want to try, if not it is time to get redressed and comfy. I will walk you through you swag bag (if applicable), which includes something cozy, something sweet, something to hydrate and a personalized message from the team on top of anything the other team members contribute.

Following the photoshoot

Depending on your package, and how busy both of us are, you will get a message from me the we can go ahead and schedule your reveal. Also held virtually, we will review your photos (with minimal editing), and you will choose which photos you want to keep as part of your package, or it is at this time you will be asked to decide on purchasing additional photos or an album. Albums and additional photos are the only purchases that must be made directly with me. In addition, we will discuss whether or not you are comfortable with us sharing the photos. There is a separate model release that is needed for this, and there is an option to allow for limited release (aka "anonymous" photos).

Once we complete the reveal I will go back and finalize the photos with any additional edits, before composing your individual gallery and sending it to you via email. In addition to this, you will receive an email with a experience questionnaire and a link to leave us a google review. This is essential in continuing to spread the word of what we do and make sure we are visible to anyone who is looking for our services.

We appreciate all of the feedback and support over the past year and half. If it were for our beautiful clients entrusting us with their boudoir experience, we would not be able to continue doing what we love. And that's making YOU feel amazing, confident and empowered.
